Superstar chef Michael Solomonov, the five-time James Beard Award winner who has revolutionized the landscape of Israeli food in America and author of Israeli Soul Kitchen, joins us for a special cooking class from the rooftop of his charcoal-hot Brooklyn restaurant Laser Wolf. Joined by Top Chef Canada host and cookbook author Eden Grinshpan, they teach you how to make two of the signature dishes of this wildly popular “shipudiya” or “skewer house”: the fabulous beef/lamb kebabs and chicken shishlik. Solomonov invites you into the vibrant, amazing cuisine of his heritage, sharing the personal approach that earned his Philadelphia fine dining destination Zahav a 2019 James Beard Award for best restaurant in America. He and Grinshpan invite questions as they cook from Laser Wolf’s rooftop with its amazing views of the Manhattan skyline. And they share the secrets behind perfect charcoal grilling – and a time-honored technique that blends cooking, ritual, and passion and delivers results like no other.
