Federation Book Talk + Dr. Helen Kim & Dr. Noah Leavitt

Book Talks + is a series of talks about Jews and lesser known cultural enlightenments. Book Talks + is thrilled to welcome the husband-and-wife duo of Dr. Helen Kim and Dr. Noah Leavitt Associate Professor of Sociology and Associate Dean of Students, respectively at Whitman College.

They are co-authors of JewAsian: Race, Religion and Identity for America’s Newest Jews (University of Nebraska Press, 2016). Dr. Kim and Mr. Leavitt will discuss their book — including the complex historical relationship that has linked Asians and Jews in America as well as the many interesting contemporary interactions which these two important communities presently share.

The book will be available for purchase and there will plenty of time for questions about the culture of Asisans and Jews.
